Hi Kunal,

Very interesting thread !

To the first direction point

What features or accomplishments would make earning a Snowflake badge most meaningful to you?

I think , from what I saw at Northstar while volunteering for couple of sessions, badges for GenAI courses is what folks were really looking forward too and to great extent I saw folks completing all the requisites to earn it.

Along with GenAI , if we could also see Badges for (and kindly excuse me, if this is lack of my information and its already around)

  • Openflow

  • Horizon (Governance)

  • Platform Security etc.

That would cover breadth for some individuals who are or would be more specific to these topics in their day-in day-out roles

How could badges enhance our experiences and engagements within the Snowflake ecosystem?

I feel badges give no less accreditation sense than a certification. Or rather its a step forward on path of certification.

I have seen people proudly flaunting their badges on linked in , as a token of their earnings , and this at a high scale is motivating others to achieve so. This indirect motivation is what I believe one of the big goal of any community platform.

It also pushes an individual to achieve more , when a big plate (metaphorically Certification) is served in parts in form of modules and badges.

Are there any potential challenges or considerations to be aware of in implementing a badge system?

One thing I observed here was , when a course was complete with the requisites of badges , there wasn't a firm receipt saying that you have achieved what all is needed and badge processing is underway. If that can be provided somehow, it would be great!

Overall I feel Badging is the best way of initiation , advancement as well as community payback for all individuals. My thoughts :)
