8:05 AM	Fine-tuning LLMs within Snowflake (Apoorv Kumar, Data & AI Manager, Deloitte)	We will explore "Out of the Box LLMs" on Snowflake, highlighting the necessity of fine-tuning for optimal performance. Through a sample case study, we will be demonstrating the importance of customisation. The presentation aims to offer a practical how-to guide, utilising Snowflake and Nvidia GPUs, to maximise efficiency and effectiveness in leveraging LLMs capabilities. Participants will gain insights into optimising LLMs on Snowflake for enhanced performance, efficiency, and practical implementation strategies.
8:30 AM	Building an API-like integration… that is not an API (Alex Maund, Head of Data, INX, Arno Theron, INX, Juan Navarro, DataDivers, and Moustafa Elzeftawy, Senior Data Engineer, ex-DataDiver)	INX Software enables businesses to safely mobilise workforces and navigate health, safety, and environmental challenges in fast-paced, complex industries, to better protect people and the planet. Our clients often want to integrate our INX Core software (InControl, InFlight, and InTuition) with their other corporate systems. However, as yet, there are no APIs available to enable this type of point-to-point integration. In 2023, INX partnered with DataDivers to design and develop a new solution called +Integrate (with a much better codename: Project Bifrost) that would allow clients to integrate with our INX Core software. However, being a data team, we took a different approach and effectively built a meta data driven custom ETL tool using Snowflake, (Amazon) Airflow, and other AWS services (S3, Lambda) – all automated through IaC (CDK, Terraform) and Octopus Deploy, with the only manual part being a Streamlit app (in Snowflake) to capture some client details during the onboarding process.
