TripActions has to maintain a data environment which meets a number of requirements including multi-regional deployment of the same data model with differing privacy requirements per region, high degrees of automation and testing to allow business users to directly contribute to their data model, and dynamic and adaptable data structure to meet the changing nature of their business. To support these needs, TripActions has implemented an automated data structure that allows them to test and deploy and dynamic data model using DBT and Snowflake. In this talk we’ll cover infrastructure and tooling used to create our CI/CD pipeline, implementing an adaptive framework to allow dynamic creation of dev and prod models in independent namespaces using the same SQL, tooling to empower analysts and business users in managing a data model, and the challenges overcome in creating their toolset.
