Using Streamlit for Usage Statistics and Snowflake Cost Management in Multi-Tenant Snowflake Accounts

In this talk, Gani Simsek, Staff Data Engineer at Irish Life, will demonstrate how to use Streamlit to aggregate, view, and forecast usage statistics in multi-tenant Snowflake accounts. Usage statistics are either only available to privileged user accounts such as AccountAdmin or require crafting custom queries. We will show how we can use Streamlit to create a web application that displays usage statistics for each tenant, including the number of queries run, the amount of data processed, and the cost of the queries per team/role/warehouse etc. The goal is to allow users to see their usage statistics in a user-friendly way and to forecast future usage based on historical data.

In this talk, Bartosz Oler, Site Reliability Engineer at Snowflake, will cover Snowflake’s migration to Envoy for traffic management. You will also learn about SRE at Snowflake: who we are and what we do; and you’ll get a peek into the ongoing migration effort.
