Hands-On Lab: Snowflake Cortex Analyst

Workshop Instructors:

In this workshop on November 22 (Friday) from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, your instructors will walk you through:

  • How to construct and configure a Semantic Model for your data
  • How to call the Cortex Analyst REST API to use your Semantic Model to enable natural-language question-asking on top of your structured data in Snowflake

You'll also be assisted during the workshop by the following Volunteers:

What You Will Build

  • A Semantic Model over sample financial data
  • A Streamlit app with a conversational interface to Cortex Analyst

Prerequisites

  • You'll need a Snowflake account in one of the following regions (you can sign up for a free trial acccount: https://signup.snowflake.com/ )
    • AWS ap-northeast-1 (Tokyo)
    • AWS us-east-1 (Virginia)
    • AWS us-west-2 (Oregon)
    • AWS eu-central-1 (Frankfurt)
    • Azure East US 2 (Virginia)
    • Azure West Europe (Netherlands)
  • Git Installed, the Snowflake Getting Started Guide (repo) downloaded, and the semantic model generator repo cloned
  • Python >= 3.9 installed
