He’s always aimed to be a hybrid: tech-savvy enough to dive into the trenches and concious about business goals waiting to be achieved.
Continuing with an exclusive job career around data disciplines, he has survived some technological revolutions and contributed to data projects in Banking, HR, and Pharma which give him a seasoned perspective on today’s “next big announcement”.
For the past 4 years, he’s been leading a team of data engineers at Boehringer Ingelheim, delivering global data services powered by tools like Snowflake and dbt.

In this talk, Albert will present how Boehringer manages global data on Snowflake, cutting costs and boosting scalability. The session shows how Cortex LLM Functions automate data harmonization, enabling integrated data products that enhance decision-making.

Snowflake Intelligence and Semantic Models (Adalberto Orellana): Adalberto is a Data Engineer with extensive experience in modern analytical architectures, specializing in Snowflake as a cloud data warehouse platform. He has led implementations, cost and performance optimization, semantic modeling, and data orchestration in enterprise environments. He has a strong command of SQL, Python, Power BI, and Azure, integrating multiple data sources. He is known for his focus on scalability, data governance, and aligning business and technology.
