Jul 29, 9:00 PM – Jul 30, 12:00 AM (UTC)
From data consumer to AI builder, in one session.
This month, we're getting hands-on with AI application development inside Snowflake.
Join Michael Young as he leads a live workshop where attendees will build two working AI applications using Snowflake Cortex, Cortex Search, and Snowflake CoCo. Using only a browser and a free Snowflake trial account, you'll walk through the architecture, development, and evaluation of modern AI applications directly within the Snowflake platform.
If you've been curious about how Cortex, Cortex Search, and CoCo work together in a real-world solution, this is the session to bring your laptop to.
AI application development is evolving quickly, and organizations are increasingly looking for ways to build intelligent applications without moving data outside their governed platforms.
Snowflake Cortex provides a powerful foundation for building AI-powered experiences directly against your data. This hands-on session will give you practical experience with the tools and patterns you can use to move from experimentation to production-ready AI applications.
During the workshop, you'll create:
A text corpus pipeline to ingest, chunk, and index documents inside Snowflake
A Cortex Search Service leveraging hybrid semantic and keyword search
A Python-based RAG application that retrieves relevant context and generates grounded answers
A Text-to-SQL interface that converts natural language questions into executable SQL queries
How to call LLMs directly from Snowflake using CORTEX.COMPLETE
The architecture behind Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
How Cortex Search reduces hallucinations by grounding responses in your data
How to build a production-ready RAG application using Snowflake Notebooks and Cortex Search
How Snowflake CoCo can generate SQL and Python from natural language prompts
How to evaluate AI application quality using Snowsight Evaluations
To get the most from this session, please bring:
A free Snowflake Trial Account (any cloud region)
Basic SQL familiarity
A laptop running Chrome or Firefox
No local software installation required
